Bivalvia Study
In 1997, I produced a series of photos entitled Les bijoux de la chair (Jewels of the Flesh), which I continued with Bivalvia Study in 2007. These two bodies of work show my fascination with the physiological and anatomical similarities between bivalves and the human body. In order to demystify this hidden relationship, I dissect, isolate, bind and pin the bivalves, and then carefully arrange them to create either relics or scientific specimens that range from obscene to fascinating.
